Illustrative example
- Northside Plumbing is a fictional business. Every number on this page is made up to show the format, not a result.
- For real, verified results, see the case studies.
- The structure is the same one I send to every client on the SEO consulting plans.
1. Summary: what changed and why
Every report opens with five lines in plain language, written by me, not generated by a tool. For the example business it would read like this:
Calls from Google rose this month, mainly from the new water heater page and the Business Profile. Two service pages still sit on page two for their main search. Next month we expand those pages and ask recent customers for reviews. No technical problems were found in the monthly crawl.
2. Leads and sales
The first numbers are the ones that pay the bills: calls, forms and booked jobs coming from organic search and Maps, tracked in Google Analytics 4 and Search Console.

Organic sessions

Last month → this month. Illustrative numbers for a fictional business.
3. Visibility: the searches that matter
I track a short list of searches tied to services, not hundreds of vanity keywords. Each row shows the page that should rank and where it moved.
| Search | Target page | Last month | This month |
|---|---|---|---|
| water heater repair near me | /water-heater-repair/ | 14 | 6 |
| emergency plumber [city] | /emergency-plumber/ | 9 | 5 |
| drain cleaning [city] | /drain-cleaning/ | 18 | 15 |
| sewer line repair [city] | /sewer-line-repair/ | 23 | 21 |
Average Google position. Illustrative numbers.
4. Google Maps presence
For local businesses, the Business Profile often brings more calls than the website. The report shows calls, direction requests and reviews from the profile, plus a grid of rankings around the service area.

5. Work completed this month
- Rewrote the water heater repair page with prices, photos and FAQs.
- Fixed 14 broken internal links and 2 redirect chains found in the crawl.
- Published 4 Business Profile posts and answered every new review.
- Added LocalBusiness and Service schema to the 6 service pages.
- Wrote 2 articles: how to know if a water heater needs replacing, and what to do in a burst pipe emergency.
6. Next month's plan
- Expand the drain cleaning and sewer pages, which are close to page one.
- Start a review request routine with the office team.
- Build two service-area pages for the neighboring cities with the most calls.
What is the live progress page?
Besides the monthly report, each client gets a private page that lists the actions planned for the month and is updated as the work happens. You can check what was done today without waiting for the report or writing an email, and every item links to the page or profile that changed.
It works alongside the plans on the pricing page. If you want to know what any good report should include, read what an SEO report should show.
How is this different from a typical agency report?
Many agency reports are long exports from a tool: hundreds of keywords, charts without context and no clear next step. This report is short, starts with leads and calls, explains what changed and why, lists the work done and ends with next month's plan, so you can read it in five minutes.
