What does SEO for a med spa include?
Med spa SEO means one strong page for each treatment you offer, such as injectables, laser hair removal, skin tightening or body contouring, a well-built Google Business Profile, a steady flow of real reviews, and a fast site that works on phones. It also means checking every claim, photo and testimonial against advertising rules before it goes live.
It follows the method on the SEO consultant home page. The closest real case I can share is a holistic and functional medicine clinic in Dallas–Fort Worth, where a firewall was blocking Google; after the technical SEO rescue, average position went from 13.5 to about 9 and CTR from 2.9% to 3.29%.
How do med spa patients search before booking?
They search the treatment name with a city, then compare. Typical questions are about price, how long results last, downtime, side effects and who performs the treatment. Many look at before-and-after photos and reviews on several sites. Pages that answer those questions honestly, with provider credentials and clear pricing ranges, earn more bookings than generic spa pages.
Each treatment deserves its own page with real answers, and the provider's credentials should be visible. That matches what Google calls helpful, people-first content, and it is also what Google's AI features tend to pull from when someone asks which clinic to choose.
What I work on for med spas
Treatment pages
One page per treatment and intent, covering price ranges, downtime, candidates and who performs it.
Local pack visibility
Business Profile categories, services, photos and posts tuned for the treatments you want to grow.
Before-and-after galleries
Fast, well-labeled galleries with honest captions about what results depend on.
Real reviews
A review request flow that respects the FTC rule and never offers rewards for positive ratings.
Technical health
Speed, crawlability and booking widget checks, so Google can read the site and patients can book.
AI search presence
Clear answers and entity work so AI tools can describe your clinic accurately.
The technical base is covered in technical SEO and the map work in local SEO. Google's local ranking tips name relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews feed prominence. Booking widgets and heavy gallery plugins are common reasons aesthetic sites load slowly or hide content from Google, so I check them early, the same way the Dallas–Fort Worth rescue started with what was blocking the crawler.
What can a med spa say about results?
Only what you can support. The FTC expects health claims to be backed by competent and reliable scientific evidence, and a genuine testimonial does not replace that evidence. If a before-and-after shows an unusually strong result, the page should also say what most patients can expect. Your medical director and counsel should approve final wording.
The FTC's Health Products Compliance Guidance explains that testimonials cannot substitute for substantiation and that a generic “results not typical” line is not enough next to dramatic outcomes. The FTC rule on fake reviews adds that you cannot buy reviews conditioned on a positive sentiment, post undisclosed staff reviews or suppress negative ones with threats. This is information, not legal advice.
- Avoid words like “permanent”, “painless” or “no side effects” unless you have evidence.
- Show typical results next to standout before-and-after photos.
- Get written consent for every patient photo and testimonial.
- Name who performs each treatment and their credentials.
- Have the medical director sign off on treatment pages.
How much does SEO for a med spa cost?
Med spas use the same monthly plans as any business: $1,000, $1,750 or $2,500 a month, depending on how many treatments and locations you promote and how competitive your market is. A full SEO audit starts at $450, and each treatment page costs $90. Everything starts with a free 30-minute diagnosis, month to month.
See the pricing page or book a free diagnosis for your med spa. If your clinic also offers cosmetic dentistry, see dental SEO.
Frequently asked questions
Have you worked with med spas before?
Not a med spa as such. My closest experience is a technical SEO rescue for a holistic and functional medicine clinic in Dallas–Fort Worth, plus local SEO for a dental clinic.
Can you write the medical content?
I write and optimize it for search, and your medical director reviews every clinical claim before it is published.
Can we post before-and-after photos?
Yes, with written patient consent and honest captions about typical results. I optimize them so they load fast and can appear in image search.
How soon will we see results?
Technical fixes can show within weeks; new treatment pages and reviews usually take a few months. I report progress monthly.
Do you offer Spanish pages?
Yes. I am a native Spanish speaker and write treatment pages that read naturally for Spanish-speaking patients.
